Based on the pioneer manuscript of Rev Rudolf Lechler, this English-Teochew (peng'im) dictionary was published in 1883 by Presbyterian missionary Rev William Duffus. Despite its title, this book contains no Chinese characters. Duffus was one of the first persons to romanize Teochew to enable the ordinary local people to read and write phonetically. Recommended for any beginner learner of Teochew.
